G&G Taiwan Famous Chicken opens two new branches

Craving for some munch and great flavor to your usual chicken recipe? The newest brand G&G Taiwan Famous Chicken formally opens its two branches in Amoranto and Quiapo JUST THIS WEEK! The first branch is located at 161 Kanlaon St. corner NS Amoranto in Retiro, Quezon City (beside the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes), and the newest branch that just opened today, June 30, is located at 121 Carlos Palanca St., Quiapo, Manila.

Owner Naville Lim was present in both opening events to happily introduce G&G in Metro Manila and invites everyone to try its Taiwan-famous fried chicken recipe.

As a special treat to lucky customers, they get a special discount for their second order when they get chicken chops on their visit to the branch. They were openly welcomed by the community who availed this limited-time deal.

For me who already tasted G&G, I recommend that you try their savory Chicken Chops, available in Original and Spicy, that's good for snacks or even for your regular meals with its tender chicken filet coated with a seasoned breading deep-fried to achieve that crunchy texture in every bite. They also have Chicken Pops, cute and bite-sized chicken balls that carry the same rich flavoring and ideal for your chitchat or movie pick-ups. Don't miss the Chicken Wings for your long drive snack and to keep you up while on the road.

There are more to order from G&G that delights the palate: Their String and Twisted Fries is a familiar taste that I will surely come back. Equally crunchy and saporous and just the right size to munch into.

These wonderful and satisfying items go well with Goodgood drinks. Actually, Goodgood has been offering G&G items before they officially open as a stand-alone store.

It's #AlwaysGforGnG with these yummy and satisfying chicken fares for me. You can also order G&G Taiwan Famous Chicken in foodpanda and GrabFood. Also, follow their social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram.

Celebrating birthday in time of Covid 19

How's everyone? It took a long time for me to post another entry in my food blog. By the way, I'm celebrating my birthday today. As much as I wanted to spend it outside, strolling in the mall or watching a movie, I just can't, we all can't. But then, I should not miss this day without great food to celebrate.

Food deliveries have been very essential since we started the quarantine period. Aren't we all just glad that they were able to pull this through with all the limitations we're experiencing today? I'm also glad that one of my favorite caterers 8 Spoons is available to serve us. For today, I ordered a variety of food, personal choices from their menu. We're only 4 people at home, and regular sized trays would be too much for us. 8 Spoons is offering XS party trays that are good for up to 4 persons.

Grilled Chicken Teriyaki - Tender chicken drenched in teriyaki sauce with extra buttered vegetables
Japonaise Cordon Bleu - Chicken cordon bleu with ham and nori drizzled with kewpie
Korean Chapchae - To satisfy my Korean cravings, I've been watching a lot of KDramas lately
Vietnamese Spring Rolls - This was finished early because everybody loves "lumpia"
I ordered these in advance and they were very accommodating. It even reached dinner when we had it for lunch. Since they are freshly cooked, they are still warm and good to eat. The trays are very affordable too. Right now, transactions are made through online deposits to ensure your safety.

8 Spoons Party Trays can be picked up and delivered from their kitchen in Quezon City to your home via Grab or Lalamove, serving only within Metro Manila and nearby areas. Right now, they are also offering frozen items and family set meals which can help you plan your meals in the future.

WINGSHACK PH is a whacking goodness

The first time I tried the Truck Park in Marikina City in support of a good friend. He is the owner of WingShack, one of the tenants offering chicken wings at a very affordable price. You can't fail to find it as it was directly in front of the entrance.
But first, you need to need to get a Load Card at the Cashier which you can use to avail the goods inside Truck Park. Then we tried two of WingShack's best-sellers, the Cheesy Jalapeno and the Xavian Wings.

I admit that I have low heat tolerance so I cannot finish a whole serving of Cheesy Jalapeno. I'd love it for the cheese. And besides, WingShack is very generous with their water so I can just chase for the pail for a gulp of cold water. The Xavian Wings is an original recipe. It has the perfect crispiness but tender and juicy chicken flesh drenched in a sweet and salty medley. Definitely a must-try.

You can find more about the items of WingShack here:

Bhe'st Lasagna is simply the best!

i had this rare chance to eat the famous lasagna in the Metro. it's not from a restaurant but it was home-cooked by a humble housewife. Bhe'st Lasagna, from the nickname of its owner, Rossini Rufon, which had no plans before of turning her recipe into a big business, thanks to the persuasion of her family and friends.
we had a little chitchat over her two best sellers, Chicken and Beef lasagna. it was a guilty sit-down since Holy Week will be coming over. but i couldn't resist from the yummy beef lasagna that i had that time. she didn't mind about revealing her secret. she just devoted her time and love making the lasagna. it was true that when you're happy when you're cooking, a smile is a secret ingredient i guess.

it was such a blessing for her pursuing the lasagna business. she was able to send her 4 kids to school and in return, they are helping their mom do the lasagna as it also serves as their family time. they even joined expos and bazaars introducing the delicious dish to the people.

Bhe'st Lasagna is also been discovered by local celebrities and voluntarily endorsed to their friends. examples are Snooky Serna and Christine Babao. you can check their Facebook page for other testimonies. i personally love the beef lasagna especially with the cheese sauce and pandesal garlic toast.
Pandesal Garlic Toast (Php 100 / 24pcs)
did you know that you can also customize the lasagna? special requests had Rossini innovate on her own lasagna and make is more special for occasions. you can put a short dedication for the large servings of Bhe'st Lasagna for the person you love.

HOLDAK: falling in love with real Korean chicken

it was a traditional story of a passionate foodie of bringing in his favorite dish in his hometown. but for Carl Tan, President of Holdak Philippines, his story is not just about passion for food but falling in love with it. in his business venture, Holdak, he shares his story of how he brought home a piece of what he loves and he also shares the moments of being in love with his favorite chicken dish.
Holdak, from a Korean phrase "Holdak ban hada" which means "to fall deeply and madly in love with something" and Dak in Hangul dialect which means chicken. so it's a play on words of "falling madly in love with chicken." in his special invitation, i really now understand why he is in love.

started just last January 2013, Holdak first opened at the foot of Mezza residences in Manila where people pass by. thus, the willingness of Carl Tan to share and spread his happiness to the passers by and even visitors make it standing in store today. he first tasted Holdak in a chilly night in Beijing and finding out it's franchising terms even encouraged him to bring it here. how excited is he reminiscing back memories of watching a movie in Beijing with friends eating Holdak chicken on their laps.

the restaurant is easy to find on its location. the chicken head icon makes its mark on the glass window of the restaurant. of course, you'll never get confused with its orange appeal. a very inviting atmosphere and cozy interior for everyone.
his chicken party became more livelier when courses of Holdak chicken is being served on the tables. 4 different flavors to choose from: Yang-Nyam, Spicy Yang-Nyam, Padak and Jack Daniels. all dishes are well-done boneless chicken thighs with a crispy breading. the different flavors will satisfy your palates with different heat intensities and sweetness. my personal favorite is the Padak chicken which has to be eaten with spring onions. a little bite with chili for that satisfying kick.
Clockwise from Top left: Spicy Yang-Nyam, Jack Daniels, Yang-Nyam and Padak
Padak
other than these yummy chicken dishes, you can also try other specialties like their Regular and Cheese Ramen, the Curry Fries (another ) and their salad. all perfectly complement the taste of their chickens and you will not get used to the taste.

soon, Holdak Chicken will be available thru delivery in a 5-kilometer radius from its position. you can call 354-2195 for a minimum order of Php 250. you can also take home a box of 6 (single-flavor) or 12 (2 flavors) for a very reasonable but affordable price.
