Manila Peninsula Lobby Turns 33!

The Lobby of The Peninsula Manila turns 33 on September 14 and the Halo-halo Harana, Pancit Luglog, and Schueblig – three iconic items on its menu – are at the center of its 33rd anniversary celebration.

The hotel is offering the dishes at 1976 prices on Monday, September 14th (12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.).

"The Lobby is known for its classics,” says the hotel food and beverage director, Laurent le Deu. “It’s what keeps our patrons coming back year after year. It’s actually an extensive list but we wanted to keep things simple so we decided to trim it down to something more manageable.”

How much did the three cost back in 1976?

“Thankfully, our archive system’s in good shape and we were able to find old menus that had them all listed down. And the funny thing is they were all priced at P33.00 back then. Imagine that?” he adds, with a rather bemused smile.

The three will be selling at The Lobby for only P33++. One for every year that The Peninsula Manila has been in operation.

The Lobby 1976 Price Rollback promotion will be strictly on no-reservations and first-come/first serve basis. Added conditions to the promotion: drinks and items not on the rollback list will be regularly priced; transactions will not accept marketing tie-up discounts, there will be no takeout; all three items must be ordered and consumed at The Lobby, and orders will not be shared.

This only happened this year, so take opportunity of this big food event!
